Client Project

Nestled in the coastal surrounds of Port Arthur, this recently completed project on Gwen Road is a striking example of how thoughtful material selection and craftsmanship can transform a home into something truly special. Brought to life by South East Building, with bespoke joinery by Jamie Roach Joinery and expert tile installation by Mark Burn & Co, this home showcases a seamless blend of texture, tone, and personality across every space.

Textural warmth meets contemporary detail
The vanity area sets the tone with a warm, inviting palette. Underfoot, the Dayton Sand 596x596 provides a soft, neutral base, perfectly complementing the walnut timber-look vanity. A round LED mirror adds a modern touch, while the splashback becomes a true feature - with the Ombre Denim Matt Mosaic applied to the back wall within the vanity recess. The vertical kit kat format introduces texture and movement, elevating what could otherwise be a simple space.

A bold statement framed by nature
The main bathroom embraces contrast and connection to its surroundings. The Dayton Sand 596x596 continues across both floor and walls, creating a seamless and calming backdrop. This is strikingly offset by a black freestanding bath, elevated on a step and framed with the deep, moody tones of Coco Blue Night 50x150 tiles across both the platform and the wall behind the bath. Positioned above, a window captures views out to the surrounding bushland - enhancing the sense of retreat and tranquillity.

Dark tones layered with warmth and texture
The ensuite embraces a bold and moody palette, creating a space that feels both dramatic and refined. Deep navy painted walls enhance the richness of the materials, while the walnut timber-look vanity introduces warmth and balance throughout the room.
The Rebel Emerald Matt 600x1200 tiles flow across the floor and shower walls, bringing depth and an understated texture to the space. Paired with this, the Cotto Square 48mm Matt Mosaic has been used within the shower niche and vanity splashback, adding subtle variation and detail that complements the darker tones beautifully.

Colour, character and craftsmanship
The kitchen is a standout within the home, featuring the now-discontinued Entiva Venetian Green Gloss 150x150 tiles as a vibrant splashback. Their glossy finish reflects light beautifully, bringing depth and energy into the space while pairing effortlessly with the custom joinery by Jamie Roach Joinery. This combination of colour and craftsmanship results in a kitchen that feels both timeless and full of personality.

Practical design with a refined finish
Continuing the home’s cohesive material palette, the laundry combines durability with understated style. Deep green cabinetry creates a bold yet sophisticated focal point, pairing beautifully with the rich tones of the Rebel Emerald Matt 600x1200 tiles used across the floor.
Complementing this, the Cotto Square 48mm Matt Mosaic 306x306 creates a textured splashback feature, adding warmth and visual interest while tying seamlessly into the finishes used throughout the home.

Natural textures with a contemporary edge
At the home’s entry, the Montesa Antricita Black Crazy Pave Matt 226x326 creates an immediate visual impact. This close-up moment highlights the organic variation of the crazy pave pattern, enhanced by a contrasting light grout that defines each piece. The result is a textured, durable surface that feels both modern and grounded within the natural landscape.
Completing the look throughout the home is the use of ABI Interiors Brushed Copper tapware. These warm metallic accents elevate each space, adding a touch of luxury and tying together the colour palettes used across the bathrooms and kitchen.
This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and attention to detail. From the builder to the joiner and tilers, every element has been executed with care, resulting in a home that feels cohesive, considered, and truly unique.
We’re proud to have supplied the tiles for this stunning Port Arthur project and look forward to seeing how it continues to be enjoyed for years to come.
